What is Category Filtering
Netsweeper has many different types of categories, with some available for blocking and others available for reporting purposes. Category filtering can be defined as sorting URLs into subject categories and subsequently filtering them based on subject content. Netsweeper’s Dynamic Categorization Engine scans and sorts the content of billions of websites and adds this information to a database of categorized sites maintained on the Netsweeper Category Name Server (CNS). Each URL is categorized by Netsweeper and based on these categories. URLs can be allowed or denied.
This example shows five URLs. Each URL has been categorized by Netsweeper. Based on these Categories, the URLs can be allowed or denied.
